This is a view of the West loop. The trestle is made of cedar and the bridge work by the fence is girder construction.
This a view of the crossing in the middle of the rail road. You can see the passing track and the cross over that allows the train to return to the yard.
This is the East loop. In the very back is a switch that leads to the yard and storage shed.
Now you can see the track leading to the yard and turntable. The turntable also allows access to the storage shed. The slope of the land allows for the yard to be elevated for ease of operation in this area. All bridge work is of girder construction.
This shot shows how the girder construction is done. Steel stud bottom channel is used for the sides and treated 2x4's are used as spacers. The top deck is cement board. This method of construction was suggested by Steve King.
This view shows the turntable and the access to the storage shed. The metal plate in the lower left corner is the remote switch control panel. The crossover switches are controlled from here by air pistons.
Maintaining this layout takes a crew and this is one way of getting around for light work.
The forman does his rounds in this quaint vehicle. A 6v battery sits under the hood.
This is the latest edition to the maintainance shop. The speeder is based on the McCabe MoW Speeder and was built in the Pogoshock shop.
The work train consists of the crane, tender car and blacksmith's car. The crane is radio controlled and was constructed by bashing a 1:12 model It is fully functional.
